The BBC is set to honour the memory of the late Dr. Michael Mosley with 'Just One Thing Day' on Friday (12.07.24).

The TV doctor passed away at the age of 67 in June on the Greek island of Symi after he vanished during a walk in sweltering temperatures whilst holidaying with his wife Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley.

And everyone is being asked to do 'Just One Thing' in tribute to the host of the BBC Radio 4 podcast of the same name.

Radio 2, 6 Music and BBC Radio1, 'Morning Live' and 'The One Show' will also be involved.

Mohit Bakaya, Director of Speech and Controller of BBC Radio 4 and 4 Extra, said: "Michael's broadcasting changed people's lives. His Radio 4 podcast inspired so many to take up small, everyday things to improve their health and well-being.

"So we thought it would be fitting to dedicate a day to the impact he had on people's lives and celebrate his legacy within broadcasting and beyond.

"He was a hugely well-liked and widely admired colleague within radio and TV, so it is no surprise that so many programmes across the BBC have been keen to share their support for Michael as part of 'Just One Thing Day'. I hope audiences will be similarly inspired to join us to do 'Just One Thing' in memory of Michael."

His widow recently vowed to continue his work as she paid tribute to her husband.

She thanked the public for their "outpouring of love" in the wake of the health expert's death.

Clare posted on Instagram: "Thank you all for your wonderfully supportive messages. The outpouring of love from so many people has meant a huge amount to me and my family.

"I'm going to be quiet for a while. I'm sure you will understand. But I will be back here soon. I very much want to continue with the work that gave Michael and myself so much joy and such a sense of purpose.

"Once more thank you so much for respecting my family's privacy so kindly.

"Michael was an amazing man. Thank you for seeing that too. We miss him so much."

Mosley - who presented shows such as the BBC programme 'Trust Me, I'm A Doctor' - had reportedly been offered the chance to appear as a contestant on the next series of 'Strictly Come Dancing' before his tragic death.

A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: "He told me just the week before last he'd been invited to do 'Strictly'.

"Dr. Mosley would have been a hugely loveable contestant, exactly what the show needs."

'Just One Thing Day' will run all day across the BBC. Box sets of Just One Thing are available on BBC Sounds.
