Pieces Of Her, starring Toni Collette, is the latest Netflix thriller that people can't stop talking about. Whether it's to critique Andy Oliver's decision making or to question whether there will be a second series, the internet definitely has a lot to say.

*Spoilers* The series follows Laura Oliver (Collette) as her dark past unfolds in front of daughter Andy's eyes (played by Bella Heathcote.) A violent attack on a cafe leads Laura to display some impressive self-defence, which makes her daughter question if everything she knows about her mother is true.

Eventually, Laura's past is revealed, as Andy discovers the duo are actually part of a witness protection programme. In short, she finds out her dad Nick Harp headed up the Army of the Changing World extremist group, who killed Laura/Jane's father more than 30 years earlier.

After giving evidence against Nick to the police, Laura/Jane served a four year sentence, before being released into witness protection, where she and her daughter with Nick were given new identities and moved across the country.

If you're looking for a detailed explainer of how things wrap up, here's what we know about Pieces Of Her's ending.

Pieces Of Her ending, explained

What's the full story of what happened in Oslo?

Flashback scenes from 30 years earlier reveal Nick Harp recruited Jane and her brother Andy into his far-left anarchist organisation, Army of the Changing World. They planned to pull a stunt on their father, a huge pharmaceutical mogul, in protest of his business, during a public talk in Oslo, Norway.

The group kidnapped the person who was meant to be on stage with their father, Alexandra Maplecroft, and replaced her with Grace Juno. They think Grace is going to throw red dye at Martin Queller, to symbolise the blood on his hands as the leader of a Big Pharma corporation. What actually happens is she shoots him dead, and then kills herself.

While making an attempt for freedom, Maplecroft stabs Nick in the hand, and he then uses the blade to slice her throat - a technique Jane/Laura uses 30 years later in the cafe. Her brother Andy, meanwhile, dies from a shot wound from police while they were running away from the conference scene.

Devastated over her brother's death, Jane/Laura makes a deal with the police to tell them everything she knows about Nick, in exchange for a stint in prison and a witness protection programme.

But! Another twist! In one of the final flashbacks, we discover it was actually a young Jane who gives Grace the loaded weapon, after her dad tried to drug her and hurt her unborn child. "I’m afraid of him. He’ll take her from me. He takes everything," Jane says.

What happens in Pieces Of Her's final episode?

Once viewers understand that Laura's real name is actually Jane Queller and the story of her past, we flash forward to Eli and Clara's cabin, where Andy woke up following a car crash with Charlie.

After Andy walks downstairs and finds Nick, her father, in the kitchen, Jane/Laura arrives with the blue suitcase. Andy soon realises why everyone has been after it; it turns out there's a cassette tape in the lining, which proves Laura/Jane's brother Jasper - who wants to be Vice President - was also involved in the Oslo attack. He wanted to take over his father's company, but his father wanted Jane to take over, so Jasper tried to discredit their dad and put Jane off the company with the protest.

Nick insists he didn't send someone to murder Andy in the motel - he only wanted to bring her in. But Andy and Jane don't believe him, and make a run for it, knocking over a gas lamp in the process. The cabin goes up in flames, Nick and Andy make a play for the gun and Jane/Laura slices him with a blade. He flees, Jane/Laura chases him into the woods but fails to shoot him, before US marshals flood the scene.

Nick is taken to the highest security prison, and Jane/Laura and Andy find out that sadly Charlie died in the car crash.

The trauma's got to end there, right? Er, wrong. Later, Jane/Laura's brother Jasper phones her, to reveal he is officially running for the election. He also revealed Nick filled him in on what she did in Oslo. "I’ve never understood you, Jane, but we’re family. I can keep him quiet," he says, before saying he'll "be in touch." Ominous.
