Fatima Whitbread wants to prove she's "still got it" on 'Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.'

The 61-year-old athlete - who broke the world record for Javelin throwing back in 1986 and went on to win two Olympic medals - is the oldest celebrity contestant ever on the Channel 4 survival show and "loved every minute" of her military-style training.

She said: "I want to prove this old biddy’s still got it. I wanted to do this show because it was a great opportunity to check in on myself and see where I was in my life. But it was one of the toughest processes I’ve been through, as well as the biggest challenge. I loved every minute. I shouldn’t have, but I did."

The former 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here' star has joined the likes of 'Love Island' winner Amber Gill, 25, ex-footballer Ashley Cain, 31, and 'EastEnders' actress Maisie Smith, 21, as part of the lineup and admitted that while none of them knew "what to expect", she is a "tough cookie" who is used to "punishing" herself.

She told The Mirror: "None of us knew what to expect. “But having been a top-flight athlete, I’m used to being punished. I punish myself all the time and train exceptionally hard. It’s not just the physical, I’m also aware of the importance of mental preparation. These sorts of battles are won or lost in the application of the mind.

"I’m probably a tougher cookie in that way than most. So it was nice to share some of those strengths, and weaknesses, with these young people. It was a great chance to show an older person can still thrive in a situation like that."

'Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins' airs on Sundays at 9pm on Channel 4.
