First look at Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery in new horror movie

First-look photos of Michelle Dockery have been released for upcoming horror film Please Don't Feed the Children.

The Downton Abbey actor plays the lead in the post-apocalyptic movie alongside Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito.

In one image, Dockery looks on ominously in a full-length mirror, with her attention focused on a young girl.

A second still shows her character wearing surgical gloves and attending to a wound on an injured man.

"In a world where a pandemic has decimated the adult population of the planet, a group of orphans cross the United States in search of a new life," reads the film's official synopsis. "During their journey, they unexpectedly fall prey to a bloodthirsty woman with a hidden and horrifying past."

It's thought that Dockery plays the "bloodthirsty woman" teased, though character details haven't been officially shared.

Please Don't Feed the Children marks the directorial debut of Destry Allyn Spielberg, the daughter of legendary Hollywood director Steven Spielberg. Screenwriter Paul Bertino has penned the script for the film.

The horror will see its worldwide premiere at the Sitges Film Festival this week in Catalunya, Spain.

When the movie was greenlit in March 2023, Spielberg was full of praise for the cast, saying: "It's a dream come true to work with a talent such as Michelle Dockery. I am excited to elevate the genre with our incredible cast and crew."

2024 has proven to be a busy year for Dockery, who starred in This Town, the latest series from Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight.

Next year, she will be seen in thriller Flight Risk with Mark Wahlberg, which is currently scheduled for a January release.

Please Don't Feed the Children currently has no UK release date.
