Down Low, the new R-rated comedy starring American Horror Story's Zachary Quinto and You's Lukas Gage, has released its first trailer.

The film sees Quinto play Gary, a "repressed divorcé who hires Cameron (Gage), a spirited and boundary-free sex worker, to give him an erotic massage. When Cameron learns how inexperienced middle-aged Gary is, he becomes determined to deliver a crash course in unapologetic queer life," the movie's description reads.

"Cameron's agenda of hookup apps and gay nomenclature quickly causes the day to take several riotously obscure turns as the pair endure a nosy, pill-popping neighbour, a dark web intruder, and more in a hilarious evening of consequences and confrontation."

The raunchy trailer shows the leading pair getting into all sorts of bother after their initial meeting, with locations ranging from nightclubs to woodland areas as the duo have to hide a dead body.

Starring alongside Quinto and Gage are Judith Light, Simon Rex, Sebastian Arroyo, Christopher Reed Brown and Audra McDonald. Rightor Doyle is directing and Gage and Phoebe Fisher wrote the script.

"Lukas and Zachary are the perfect duo of hilarious and heartbreaking performances," said producer Ross Katz upon the film's announcement (via Deadline).

"Lukas's ability to co-write the script and bring it and the character he created to life reveals just how much of a multi-talented creative he is. We are thrilled by the stellar cast that rallied around this wholly unique film."

"Thanks to FilmNation, along with Sui Generis Pictures, and our fantastic casting director Wendy O'Brien for supporting and collaborating on the vision I had for this ensemble. Ok, now back to editing…" he said.

Down Low will be released in the US on October 10; there is currently no UK release date.
