Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield's new movie We Live in Time has landed its first UK screenings.

The romantic drama will be shown at the BFI London Film Festival — held between October 9 and October 20 at select UK venues — nearly three months before it lands in UK cinemas next January.

We Live in Time will be the feature presentation at the prestigious Mayor of London's Gala, in what will be the film's international premiere. It is debuting first at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival this week.

Director John Crowley's movie is one of 253 titles premiere during the BFI London Film Festival — and one of 12 international premieres set for the event.

Other major projects screening at the BFI London Film Festival next month include the James Norton-starring Joy, Saoirse Ronan's Blitz, and Richard Curtis' new animated movie That Christmas.

We Live in Time casts Garfield and Pugh as a young couple, Tobias and Almut, as they are followed during pivotal moments in their relationship.

From the first blushes of love to a tragic diagnosis that tests their bond, We Live in Time is an unconventional look at the best and worst moments in a love story for the ages.

Filmmaker John Crowley earned critical acclaim for his 2015 film Brooklyn and has also worked extensively in TV on episodes of True Detective and Black Mirror.

Crowley is directing from a script penned by Nick Payne, who previously wrote the BBC TV drama Wanderlust and the Netflix film The Last Letter from Your Lover.

Garfield and Pugh are joined in the cast of We Live in Time by Mr Bates vs The Post Office's Adam James, Black Mirror's Marama Corlett and Normal People star Aoife Hinds.

We Live in Time screens at the BFI London Film Festival in October, before releasing in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on January 1, 2025.
