Gerard Butler returns in new 'Angel Has Fallen' trailer

Lionsgate has today released a new trailer for upcoming action sequel Angel Has Fallen, featuring the return of Gerard Butler as gruff Secret Service Agent Mike Banning.

The film, a sequel to 2013’s Olympus Has Fallen and 2016’s London Has Fallen, is coming to cinemas on 21 August. It sees Banning thrust back into action to save Morgan Freeman’s President Trumbull once again. However, the bodyguard finds himself on the wrong side of the law this time around, when he’s framed for the attempt on the Commander-In-Chief’s life.

Synopsis: When there is an assassination attempt on U.S. President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman), his trusted confidant, Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), is wrongfully accused and taken into custody. After escaping from capture, he becomes a man on the run and must evade his own agency and outsmart the FBI in order to find the real threat to the President. Desperate to uncover the truth, Banning turns to unlikely allies to help clear his name, keep his family from harm and save the country from imminent danger.

Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, and starring Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lance Reddick, Tim Blake Nelson, Piper Perabo, Nick Nolte and Danny Huston, Angel Has Fallen arrives in cinemas on 21 August, 2019.
