“The Golden Bachelor” couple Gerry Turner, Theresa Nist divorcing after 3 months of marriage

The reality show stars tied the knot during a Jan. 4 broadcast on ABC.

The romantic ties that bound The Golden Bachelor couple Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist have severed after three months of marriage.

The pair revealed Friday on Good Morning America that they will divorce shortly after Turner proposed to Nist on the Nov. 30 finale of the ABC dating show, which led to the network's broadcast of their wedding ceremony on Jan. 4.

“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth, and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage," Turner told the program, later responding, "Yes" when host Juju Chang clarified that he meant divorce.

Turner said that he still loves Nist, the latter of whom gave some insight into one of the reasons behind the couple's split, which will see them return their respective rings to each other.

“We looked at homes in South Carolina, we considered New Jersey, and we just looked at homes after home, but we never got to the point where we made that decision," she said.

Turner and Nist first fell in love last year on The Golden Bachelor, the first iteration of the popular romantic reality series to include a full cast of seniors. Turner was 72 at the time of the show's broadcast, while Nist was 70.
