No, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord hasn’t been replaced just yet. Although you’d be forgiven for wondering if that’s what might be going on in this alleged shot of a cut scene from the upcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.’

Actor Nathan Fillion took to Instagram to share the image of himself dressed as presumably some sort of intergalactic barbarian, in the cockpit of a spacecraft which doesn’t look too different from Star-Lord’s beloved Milano.

Fillion’s accompanying note reads, “From a scene you won’t see in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Is the movie still spectacular without it? Yes.”

Reports have claimed that Fillion (best known for TV’s ‘Castle,’ and his leading role in Joss Whedon’s ‘Firefly’ and ‘Serenity’) had been set to appear in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2’ as Simon Williams, AKA Wonder Man – but only in an Easter Egg capacity. In the comics, Williams is a movie star as well as a superhero, and posters of Williams movies will apparently be visible during ‘Guardians 2’s few Earth-bound scenes.

Fillion is a good buddy of writer-director James Gunn, having starred in his first two films ‘Slither’ and ‘Super’ as well as appearing under heavy CGI in the first ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’

Keep ’em peeled for Fillion’s Simon Williams when ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2’ hits screens on 28 April.
