Guardians of the Galaxy's Star Lord to have 'sizeable' role in Avengers: Infinity War

In what will likely be the most superhero-stuffed movie of all time – yes, even more than ‘Captain America: Civil War’ – ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ could be looking to the galaxy for some assistance.

According to reports, Star Lord – Chris Pratt’s character from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ – is set to take on a ‘sizeable’ role alongside Tony Stark and his chums.

Comicbook aficionados Schmoes Know have the inside track on the rumours, and while it’s been known that Pratt’s Peter Quill will be involved in the next Avengers adventure, the extent has not.

“We are reporting that Star-Lord will have a sizable role in Infinity War as the Avengers join up with him as they take on a new cosmic threat,” the site writes.

“We are not sure if the rest of the Guardians are there too or if they’re only joining in on the action for Avengers 4 but we do know that Star-Lord will be the first of the Guardians to make an appearance.

“The scripts are still being written but as of right now Pratt’s Star-Lord looks to be a major player in Infinity War.”

We very much like the sound of that.

For many, Pratt’s Star Lord was among the most welcome additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after his introduction as the C90-loving hero of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ last year.

And that ‘cosmic threat’ mentioned as the antagonist in ‘Infinity War’, is Thanos, the ‘eternal superhuman’ played by Josh Brolin in ‘GotG’, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ and the forthcoming ‘Infinity War’ too (along with the movie’s so far untitled sequel in 2019 too).

The Russo brothers, they of ‘Captain America: Winter Soldier’ and ‘Civil War’ fame, will be helming the movie, due out in May, 2018.
