Hollywood legend Hayley Mills joins Death in Paradise
Hayley Mills has joined the cast of 'Death in Paradise'.
The 77-year-old actress - who became a box office favourite as a teenager in the 1960s with her roles in Disney classics 'Pollyanna' and 'The Parent Trap' - will be seen as a guest star on the upcoming 13th series of the BBC One drama and bosses were "thrilled" to have her on board.
An insider told The Daily Star newspaper's HotTV column: "Hayley will be one of the guest stars on the new series. To say everyone is thrilled to have her on the show is an understatement.
"There was a lot of excitement on set when she was filming her scenes."
Following her Hollywood career, Hayley landed the title role on the sitcom 'Good Morning, Miss Bliss' - which was later retooled into 1990s classic 'Saved by the Bell' - and in more recent years has appeared on British TV hits like 'Wild At Heart' and guest-starred in 'Midsomer Murders'.
She also played the leading role of Anna Leonowens in a major revival of 'The King and I' in the 1990s and in 2023 starred in a stage adaptation of 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'.
Other famous faces to appear on the upcoming series of 'Death in Paradise' include former 'X Factor' contestant Rachel Adedeji, West End star Richard Fleeshman - who played Craig Harris on 'Coronation Street' from 2002 until 2006 - and comedienne Ronni Ancona.
Other guest stars lined up for the new series - which will air on BBC One from February 4 - include former 'Band of Gold' actress Cathy Tyson, 'Motherland' star Ellie Haddington and singer Kate Robbins, who is known for her appearances on 'Crossroads' and 'Spitting Image'.
A show spokesman said: "'Death In Paradise' continues into its 13th year with its much-loved combination of magnificent mysteries, mind-boggling puzzles and plot twists which leave audiences guessing and on the edge of their
seats."
