'House of Cards' season 6 release date confirmed, new poster released

Netflix has just released the launch date for the sixth and final season of House of Cards. The political drama will return later this year with Robin Wright in the lead role. This follows a cast and storyline shake-up after allegations of sexual misconduct made against the star’s former lead Kevin Spacey.

Spacey was fired from his leading role as Frank Underwood in November 2017, and Netflix has cut all ties with the two-time Academy Award winning actor.

The last season of House of Cards will centre around Robin Wright’s lead character, Claire Underwood. In addition to returning cast members such as Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson and Patricia Clarkson, Wright will be joined by two new Academy Award nominated co-stars, Greg Kinnear and Diane Lane.

Netflix has just released a new poster showing Claire Underwood sitting alone in what appears to be Abraham’s seat at The Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. It also reveals the release date.

When is the new season out?

The sixth and final season, consisting of eight episodes, will be available to stream on Netflix from Friday 2nd November 2018.
