Hugh Bonneville says Downton Abbey 3 is the 'best' film yet

The Downton Abbey actor spoke to Yahoo UK about what viewers can expect from Robert Crawley and the Crawley family in the next film in the franchise.

What can fans expect from the film?

For my character, I think the usual, which is that he's a sort of.

He's a sort of dinosaur trying to be led into the future reluctantly, and then eventually he stumbles forward a bit.

So as always, there's that rhythm of things changing with glacial slowness and Robert finally accepting that it's time to move the story on, so to speak.

Um, it it's got the it's got.

So you know, the usual tropes, if you like, of thrills and thrills and spills in a very Downton way.

Which means spilling a tac up pretty much.

Um, but, uh, it's, uh, I think you know, people who've watched the show over the years and they loved it Will, um, Will yes.

Well, they'll miss Maggie Smith's presence.

Uh, she doesn't step out of the shower.

Um, and it's all been a dream.

Um, it's, um uh, she is gone, but I think there's There's so much, uh, warmth and and and fun to enjoy, um, and new elements as well, which I won't spoil.

Um, that I think it'll be.

It'll certainly be the you know, the best iteration of the of the film versions.
