Jack Reynor: Auditioning For Han Solo Was ‘Completely Unique’

Jack Reynor, the Irish star of John Carney’s new film ‘Sing Street’, has admitted he auditioned to play Han Solo in the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ spin-off, calling the process “unique”.

“It was a mad audition process [for Han Solo],” admits Jack in our exclusive interview above, “It was completely unique. It was unlike anything I’ve done before.”

The 24-year-old was reportedly on a shortlist of actors linked with the role, originally made famous by Harrison Ford, but he ultimately lost out to Alden Ehrenreich.

LucasFilm announced Ehrenreich as the star of Lord and Miller’s as-yet-untitled Han Solo spin off earlier this month, but Reynor seemed pragmatic about the outcome.

“They signed Alden Ehrenreich on last week, so that’s great and I think he’s going to do it justice. I think the two directors are exceptional directors, they’re really good, and they’re really nice guys.
