Yahoo Movies James Gunn gives exciting filming update on new Superman movie
James Gunn has given fans an exciting update on his new Superman movie, confirming that the cameras will officially start rolling next year.
In a new Wired autocomplete interview, Gunn once again confirmed that he will be directing Superman: Legacy, before he revealed: "We start shooting in January."
The exciting news come shortly after the DC boss shared a photo of his complete script on Instagram, where he announced that pre-production is already underway.

"I'm honored to be a part of the legacy. And what better day than #SupermanAnniversary Day to dive fully into early pre-production on #SupermanLegacy," he wrote. "Costumes, production design, and more now up and running."
While we know that Superman: Legacy will balance a young Clark Kent's "Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing", it's still unknown who will take on the role.
Fans had expected Henry Cavill to return as the Man of Steel following his cameo in Black Adam last year, though Gunn later stated that this was never the plan.

"A lot of people made assumptions which weren't true, but for me, it's about who do I want to cast as Superman and who do the filmmakers want to cast," he explained earlier this year.
"For me, for this story, it isn't Henry. I like Henry. He's a great guy. I think he's gotten dicked around by a lot of people, including former regimes of this company. But this Superman isn't Henry for a number of reasons."
He also shut down rumours suggesting that Euphoria's Jacob Elordi had been cast in role, tweeting: "My thoughts are no one has been cast as Superman yet. Casting, as is almost always the case with me, will happen after the script is finished or close to finished, and it isn't."
But now that we know the script is finished, as well as when filming will commence, a casting announcement is surely on the way...
Superman: Legacy will be released in cinemas on July 11, 2025.
