Jamie Lee Curtis Cosplays At Warcraft Premiere

Jamie Lee Curtis strolled down the red carpet in spectacular fashion at last night’s LA premiere for fantasy blockbuster ‘Warcraft: The Beginning’.

The actress, a proud gamer and noted cosplayer, showed up as an Orc alongside her son Thomas; even yelling “Leeroy Jenkins” with a fan - a reference to the video game 'Warcraft’ is based on (we’ll explain later).

The film, directed by 'Moon’s Duncan Jones and based on Blizzard Entertainment’s 'World of Warcraft’ PC game, is nearing its US release on 10 June. The film was released in the UK on 30 May.

Curtis is no stranger to dressing up as video game characters. She turned up to the Evo fighting game tournament last summer dressed as 'Street Fighter’ favourite Vega.

In September 2015 she went to BlizzCon, a fan convention for Blizzard games, dressed as one of 'World of Warcraft’s undead.

Curtis’s Leeroy Jenkins video (here) is a reference to a legendary viral video (and meme) which first sprang up in 2005, during the first few months of the game’s existence.

In the video, an eager character by the name of Leeroy Jenkins yells his name as he storms into a battle prematurely, causing the deaths of all his teammates. You can watch the video here.
