The recent announcement that the team behind last year’s hugely successful Halloween reboot are actually already hard at work on two follow-ups immediately provoked a celebration from the horror community.
With Halloween Kills now less than a year away, and Halloween Ends under two years from release, its star Jamie Lee Curtis has decided to release a gruesome tease of the films, which should immediately get Halloween fans very, very excited.
You can take a look at the video in all of its glory, which actually gives viewers a quick glimpse at some of its set pieces, as well as the return of Michael Myers, below.
‘Tis the season..... to start screaming. First look at the mayhem David has created for all of you. @halloweenmovie #halloweenkills #strodesstrong @universalpictures @miramax @blumhouse @halloweenmovie pic.twitter.com/klrpzk1Ykg— Jamie Lee Curtis (@jamieleecurtis) October 31, 2019
Halloween Kills is once again written by Gordon Green and Danny McBride, with Scott Teems now involved as a co-writer, too, while actors Anthony Michael Hall, Kyle Richards, Charles Cyphers and Nancy Stephens have joined Lee Curtis, Judy Greer and Andi Matichak from the original.
Plot details for Halloween Kills are still being kept very much under-wraps, but it’s probably safe to assume that it will revolve around Michael Myers once again hunting down Curtis’ Laurie Strode, as well as her daughter and granddaughter, who are played by Greer and Matichak, respectively.
Blumhouse’s reboot of Halloween proved to be hugely successful for the studio, as it was met by strong reviews, most of which called it the best Halloween sequel yet, while it grossed $255 million (£197 million) worldwide from a budget of just $10 million (£8.96 million).
We’ll get to see if Halloween Kills can match that sum when it is released on October 16, 2020, while Halloween Ends will arrive on October 15, 2021.
