Jared Leto Shares New Suicide Squad Images

‘Suicide Squad’ still has a Joker up its sleeve…

Although DC’s ‘Suicide Squad’ is just around the corner, it looks as though there are still a few surprises in store – especially when it comes to The Joker.

Appearing on Instagram, ‘Suicide Squad’ star Jared Leto revealed some all-new images of himself as everyone’s favourite DC villain. And it looks as though we get a glimpse of The Joker getting up close and personal with Dr Harleen Quinzel…

Before her shocking transformation, that is.

“Hello doctor…” he said alongside the image. “Exclusive never before seen photo courtesy of @suicidesquadmovie #joker #harleyquinn @margotrobbie”

But what’s it all about?

Comic book fans will already be well-versed in Harley Quinn’s backstory – a psychiatrist who began life as Dr Harleen Quinzel, but was corrupted by The Joker’s influence during her residency at Arkham Asylum.

The young doctor became obsessed with the green-haired criminal mastermind, and The Joker was able to manipulate her into breaking him out of the Asylum. Of course, she also happened to fall in love with him, too.

And so Harley Quinn devoted herself to making him happy… and spreading mayhem.

We’ve already seen plenty of images of Harley Quinn in her costumed getup. But this glimpse at their Arkham Asylum days is just what the doctor ordered. And it looks as though we’ll be getting a good bit of backstory on the odd couple.

But this isn’t the only image Jared Leto shared…

Again, we’ve seen plenty of images of The Joker – after all, Jared Leto’s stint as the most iconic comic book villain of all time has been hugely anticipated. But these new images offer another glimpse at his take on the character.

And we can’t wait to see even more.

‘Suicide Squad’ stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jay Courtney, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Cara Delevingne, Joel Kinnaman, Karen Fukuhara, Jay Hernandez, Adam Beach and Viola Davis.

David Ayer directed the film based on a script he also wrote.

‘Suicide Squad’ heads to cinemas on 5 August 2016.
