Jared Leto's 'Horrific' Gift To His Suicide Squad Co-Stars

As we know, Jared Leto takes his art all rather seriously.

And ever since the shoot of DC’s Dirty Dozen-esque ‘Suicide Squad’, tales have emerged of his full immersion into the role of The Joker.

Remaining in character while not on camera was just the tip of the iceberg, however.

Co-star Viola Davis has spoken about his 'horrific gifts’ to his fellow cast-members, one gift in particular proving more horrific than the others.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, she said: “The Joker. He did some bad things, Jared Leto.

“He gave some really horrific gifts. He had a henchman who would come into the rehearsal room. The henchman came in with a dead pig. And plopped it on the table. And then he walked out.

“And that was our introduction to into Jared Leto. Now I’m terrified, thinking 'is he crazy?’ But the second thought was 'oh sh*t, I got to have my stuff together’.

“You talk about commitment, and then he sends Margot Robbie a black rat. Still alive. In a box.

“She screamed. And then she kept it.”

Mention of 'the pig’ had been rumoured around the time of the shoot last year, but Davis’s description really gives it a meaty edge.

It was indeed an eventful time, it would seem, with the cast all inking themselves with 'Skwad’ tattoos to show their allegiance to the project.

Robbie, however, recently revealed that she managed to spell the tattoo she gave to Jai Courtney’s assistant Simon (according to Robbie, 'an epic dude’) wrongly.

“I did spell one wrong once, though, that was extremely awkward,” Robbie told Stephen Colbert on 'The Late Show’.

“I was writing a word and I spelled it wrong. Everyone was spelling it as S-K-W-A-D. But I went straight from the S to the W.”

They could always change the name of the movie to ‘Suicide Swad’?

Not too late surely. It’s not due out until August 5.
