Remember the oddly-mesmerising Christmas movie, ‘Jingle All the Way’ starring none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger? Well fans of the movie can celebrate this Christmas… as the iconic Turbo Man action figure becomes a reality.

At least, for those lucky enough to have pledged cash to a new Kickstarter project.

‘Jingle all the Way’ stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Howard Langston, a dad who just wants to get his son one of the must-have Christmas toys – a Turbo Man action figure.

Now, you can own one of those very toys.

This last week, a new Kickstarter has launched to recreate Turbo Man in all his glory. And it’s not just a pipe dream, either – the project creator intends to build a limited run of the toys using a 3D scan of one of the film’s original props.

That’s right – it’s based on an actual Turbo Man.

“Do you remember Turbo Man doll from the holiday film Jingle All The Way? In 1996 he was the hottest Christmas toy ever! When I was a kid, I dreamed of having my very own, but sadly my dream never came true… Because he was a fictional toy only for film.”

“I wanted to change that and bring the Turbo Man toy to fans a collectors alike. Two years ago I found the owner of original prop used in the film, I thought up a great idea.Today we can make everything with the great technology 3D scanning and printing, So I decided to reproduce the Turbo Man action figure to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film.”

The original prop was sourced from the film’s director, Brian Levant. But while the plan is to make a 3D scan of the original figure, it seems Turbo Man was built without articulated limbs – meaning the project creator needs help to turn this into a real toy.

“The cost to produce a 14″ prototype is quite high, so I turn to you all in hopes to see this dream become reality .please review a quick video showcasing the 3D model. As far as the pricing it is $130 plus shipping per figure. The price you spend this time is the cost for getting your very own Turboman, so there is no additional fee except shipping.”

Unfortunately, it looks as though they’re going to be just as rare as the film version.

The pledges began at $130 for a full action figure… and all 106 units have sold out.

Still, maybe we can all get Arnold Schwarzenegger to nab us one?
