Now that ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ has finally landed in cinemas with a splash (though a somewhat modest splash by Harry Potter-verse standards), writer JK Rowling has naturally had no shortage of questions from fans about this new era of her magical world.

One notable question which arose was that, as an expelled student from Hogwarts, surely Newt should not have been allowed to use magic, as was the case with Hagrid. To this, Rowling played her cards a little closer to her chest:

Rowling is poised to pen each film in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ series, and director David Yates has confirmed he will direct all of them.

‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ is in cinemas now – with the first, as-yet untitled sequel scheduled for November 2018.
