How John Goodman Ruined His Chance To Become Friends With Kristen Wiig

John Goodman seems like the nicest man in the world, which is mostly down to his substantially reduced but still big-cuddly frame and the fact that he played Dan on ‘Roseanne’.

However, the ‘10 Cloverfield Lane’ actor has admitted that he committed a social faux pas when he first ran in to comedienne Kristen Wiig, as he told her that he was a huge fan but interrupted her conversation when doing so.

John Goodman explained to Howard Stern during his appearance on the shock-jock’s Sirius radio show, “She was talking to somebody else, and I was just – I think she’s so great, and the social barriers broke down and I interrupted the conversation.”

“And I would just hate for somebody to do that to me. And she goes, ‘Yeah, I’ll talk to you in a minute.’ It was like The Atom. I shrunk down to Atom size … I really like her, and it was embarrassing, so I’ll never speak to her again.”

Fortunately for John Goodman he was able to shake off his this minor indiscretion and still remain hugely popular because, simply put, he’s John Goodman. However, it will now be cool to hear exactly how Kristen Wiig feels about their run-in.

Did she immediately judge John Goodman as rude? Did she try and find Goodman after her conversation to speak to him? Will the pair reconcile their differences and now star in a movie together? Let’s hope so.

We can all be certain of one thing, when Kristen Wiig is out promoting ‘Ghostbusters’ later this summer she’ll undoubtedly be asked about the situation.

Until then you can remind yourself of John Goodman’s acting prowess when ‘10 Cloverfield Lane’ is released on March 18, while ‘Ghostbusters’ will be with us July 15.
