Jurassic World Stars Want Jeff Goldblum For Sequel

The cast of ‘Jurassic World’ think stars of the original ‘Jurassic Park’ could return for ‘Jurassic World 2’, unanimously voting for Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm as the character they want to see back in the dino-franchise.

“It’s exciting, the notion of the characters of the original film interacting with the characters of the current film,” Bryce Dallas Howard told Yahoo while promoting the DVD and Blu-ray release of ‘Jurassic World’.

“That would feel really natural and would be really cool, and I would love to see that.”

She let slip that she’d like to see Jeff Goldblum return when she thought the cameras weren’t rolling. Watch the full video above.

Universal Pictures confirmed ‘Jurassic World 2’ will hit UK cinemas on 7 June, 2018 and director Colin Trevorrow (who won’t return for the sequel) has revealed Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will return as Owen and Claire, but not much else is known about the plot other than it probably will take the story away from Isla Nublar.

“They’re all dead aren’t they?” quipped BD Wong who plays meddling geneticist Dr. Wu in ‘Park’ and ‘World’ when we asked him which characters he’d like to see return from the 1993 original.

“I think Jeff Goldblum was my favourite of [the original cast], he was my favourite one.”

Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins, who play Zach and Gray in ‘JW’, also plumped for the return of famed chaotician Ian Malcolm, whose fictional book ‘God Creates Dinosaurs’ appears in the film as an Easter egg.

Or, failing that, they want to see Samuel L Jackson’s chain-smoking Ray Arnold return, even though the last we saw of him he’d lost an arm to a raptor.

“[I want to see] Goldblum or Samuel L Jackson return,” says Simpkins who played the younger brother.

“One-armed Jackson,” adds Robinson.

“Maybe he could have a hook or a peg leg?” suggests Simpkins, “Or an arm with a cigarette holder?”

Goldblum is set to reprise another of his iconic 90s roles, returning as David Levinson in 2016′s ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’, and he already returned as Ian Malcolm for ‘Jurassic Park: The Lost World’, so it’s not a huge leap of imagination to see him back in ‘Jurassic World 2′.

We’d love to see Ian Malcolm crossing paths with Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady, Universal Pictures, if you’re reading this… please make it happen!

‘Jurassic World’ arrives on 3D, Blu-Ray & DVD from 19th October, available on Digital HD from 5th October.
