It looks as though Justin Theroux is in ‘Star Wars 8’.

And he might have a very, very important role to play.

According the Making Star Wars, the 45-year-old actor has landed a role in ‘Star Wars 8’… and they even have some idea about what kind of character he’ll be playing.

“The Leftovers star Justin Theroux has a role in The Last Jedi,” they revealed. “Theroux will be playing “an expert slicer” and we’re hearing he has a pivotal moment.”

What is that pivotal moment?

Unfortunately, that’s not entirely clear. But they do have some details about where Theroux’s character comes into it… and it sounds as though he’ll be appearing during casino scenes, in a rather unique-sounding costume.

“His costume is pretty interesting as well. Imagine Indiana Jones’ white tuxedo from Temple of Doom but weirder and with a Star Wars twist,” they explained. “Theroux’s character wears a white tuxedo-style jacket over a black suit.”

“His sequences fit into the casino section of the film where we saw Dubrovnik exteriors shot last year,” they added. “If you’re curious, take a look at those Dubrovnik photos and the extras dressed up there to get a better idea of his costume. He looks a little fancier than most and almost has a James Bond look about him.”

James Bond meets Star Wars?

I’m not so sure about that… but his scenes do sound rather cool.

“We have heard there was an explosion during a sequence shot on the ‘casino’ set at Pinewood and perhaps Theroux plays a part in that. It isn’t immediately clear if he’s a good guy or a villain”

Either way, Justin Theroux is an excellent actor.

Let’s just hope he has a suitably awesome role.

‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac alongside Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis.

Rian Johnson wrote and directed the movie.

‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ heads to cinemas on 15 December 2017.
