Knives Out 3 gets an exciting update from Rian Johnson

Knives Out 3 has received an exciting update from director Rian Johnson.

The filmmaker took to Instagram on Saturday (August 17) to reveal that filming has wrapped on the upcoming murder mystery, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

"Aaaaaand that's a wrap on Wake Up Dead Man," he wrote, alongside an image of a graveyard with a sign that read: "Please be mindful of the graves."

The caption continued: "Thank you to the best crew in the world and the most brilliant cast. This shoot was a VERY special experience, I cannot wait to put this thing together and show you all what we've got."

Cast announcements for the anticipated Netflix film have been coming thick and fast in recent months.

Josh O'Connor and Cailee Spaeny were the first two cast members announced, with Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, Daryl McCormack, Josh Brolin and Thomas Haden Church making up the rest of the star-studded cast.

Sadly, it doesn't look like Tom Hardy will appear in the movie, despite rumours linking him to the threequel when the cast announcements started.

"Sounds cool, but no one's asked me," he explained when asked about the speculation.

Wake Up Dead Man was previously teased by Johnson in January, with official confirmation and the film's title following in May.

Details of the film's plot are being kept under wraps, but its title has left some fans speculating whether the movie could be connected to the U2 song of the same name.

The third film is set to arrive on the streaming service sometime in 2025, three years on from the previous Knives Out movie.

Glass Onion saw Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) arrive in Greece to peel back the layers of a mystery surrounding a tech billionaire and his eclectic group of friends.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is released on Netflix in 2025.
