I Know What You Did Last Summer is getting a TV reboot, and it'll be directed by none other than Aquaman's James Wan.

While there has long been talk of a feature-length remake of the 1997 teen horror – starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr and Ryan Phillippe – the film is instead being adapted into a TV series for Amazon Prime Video.

Earlier this week, Deadline confirmed that Wan will direct the pilot of the series, while John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum co-writer Shay Hatten will script it out.

Not much else is known about the TV reboot, with production still in the early stages, but it'll undoubtedly be a return to familiar ground for the horror director, who has produced titles from franchises such as Saw, Annabelle, Insidious, The Conjuring and The Nun.

Wan will also be lending his horror expertise to an Aquaman spin-off focused on The Trench.

Last month, he offered some hints as to what audiences can expect when the spin-off finally dives onto the big screen.

"We, you know, we're still deep in sort of crafting the script, crafting the story right now so I don't want to get into that too much," he told ComicBook.

"But definitely it's one that I really want to lean into the horror of it, so it's going to play more as a monster horror movie than it will as a superhero film, but it's still definitely part of the Aquaman world."
