Kristen Stewart Thinks This Is How A Female Bond Should Be Introduced

‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart has become the latest actor to voice their opinion on the idea of the next version of iconic British spy James Bond being female.

She has an idea for how such a seismic shift for the series could happen on-screen.

“You start off as the Bond girl and then you think it’s just the girlfriend and then you’re like, 'She’s actually [Bond],’” she told E! Online. “In the trailer, it’s him and then bait and switch.”

Stewart was on the promotional trail with 'X-Men’ star Nicholas Hoult for their new indie romance 'Equals. Hoult - being a Brit - was naturally asked if he would be in the running to play the next Bond.

“I think I’m a little bit too young to be honest,” the 26-year-old admitted.“He [Bond] is in his thirties or forties.” He then named Idris Elba as his pick to take on the role.

Stewart disagreed on the issue of youth however, saying an older Bond was “getting a little stale”.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, it is seeming increasingly likely that Daniel Craig won’t be returning to play Bond in his fifth and the series’ 25th film. Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy and Aiden Turner have all been linked to the role.

The idea of a female Bond first cropped up when 'X-Files’ star Gillian Anderson shared a fan-made poster with her as 007.
