La La Land Trailer: Ryan Gosling And Emma Stone Dance To Whiplash Director’s Tune

Want to see two obscenely attractive people dancing, flirting and inspiring each other? Well you’re in luck, because the first trailer for ‘La La Land’ has this in abundance and you can check it out below right now.

Written and directed by ‘Whiplash’s’ Damien Chazelle, which was quickly regarded as one of the best films of 2014, ‘La La Land’ is a musical comedy-drama that revolves around the romance between Emma Stone’s Mia and Ryan Gosling’s Sebastian.

Respectively, the pair are an aspiring actress and jazz musician who as they find more and more success are pulled apart as they have to decide which is more important to them, their burgeoning love or the careers that they’ve worked so hard to attain?

As well as Stone and Gosling, ‘La La Land’ reunites Chazelle with J.K. Simmons, who just so happened to win the Best Supporting Academy Award for his turn in ‘Whiplash’, while it also features John Legend, Finn Wittrock, and Rosemarie DeWitt.

The trailer suggests that while it will feature the same cinematic panache and rugged beauty as ‘Whiplash’, it’ll feature choreographed musical sequences and will be lighter and more romantic in its tone, and thus similar to Chazelle’s debut feature film, 2009’s ‘Guy And Madeline On A Park Bench’. Clearly it’s a must watch.

‘La La Land’ will be released in the US on December 16, just in time for Oscar season, while it will be with UK audiences on January 13.
