Lady Sif Will Return In Thor: Ragnarok Confirms Jaimie Alexander

Jaimie Alexander has confirmed that she will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2017’s ‘Thor: Ragnorak’, and that her character Lady Sif will play a “pivotal part” in the sci-fi fantasy epic.

Alexander also teased that easter eggs and references will be included in future Marvel Studios films and TV shows.

Asked by LA Times’ Hero Complex blog about whether she will appear and what we can expect, Alexander said: “Marvel, I think on purpose, they don’t tell me certain things. Because they know I’ll be like, 'So here’s what’s gonna happen’.

"I do know I will be in 'Thor 3’ and that Sif will have a very pivotal part in that movie. I just can’t tell you what because I’ll get shot.”

Lady Sif is one of Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) most popular cohorts alongside Idris Elba’s Heimdall, despite being being given relatively little to do in the two films so far. An increased role in the third movie would certainly please Sif’s many fans.

Hero Complex also asked Alexander about the references in the Marvel universe.

“Yeah, there’s a lot of great stuff they’ve peppered in through 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ 'The Avengers,’… 'Captain [America: Civil War]’ will have some stuff. There’s just all kind of Easter eggs and hints, if you’re really paying attention. They’re so good at interweaving everything throughout those films.”

'Thor: Ragnarok’s name suggests a much darker tone than previous films, given Ragnarok in Norse mythology is defined as the “end of their mythical cycle, during which the cosmos is destroyed and is subsequently re-created”. Quite how literal that will be remains to be seen, but it should mean a lot of destruction at the very least.

Chris Hemsworth will return as the God of Thunder of course, with Tom Hiddleston confirmed to reprise his role as Loki. Other actors such as Elba are likely to return alongside Alexander.

The film is also without an officially-named director, but there’s plenty of time yet with a release date set for November 2017.
