Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence return to screens in first trailer for star-studded 'Don't Look Up'
It's been two long years since Leonardo DiCaprio or Jennifer Lawrence appeared in a major motion picture, but both will return to our screens in Adam McKay's upcoming Netflix comedy Don't Look Up.
The notoriously choosy DiCaprio was last seen in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood in 2019, while Lawrence took a brief hiatus from acting after the release of X-Men: Dark Phoenix the same year.
But their absence from the screens has not diminished their star power, as both appear to be on top form in the first trailer for Don't Look Up, the new film from the director of The Big Short and Vice. It tells the story of a couple of scientists who discover an impending earth-threatening event, and their battle to get the world to listen.

Alongside DiCaprio and Lawrence, McKay has assembled an all-star cast that includes Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett, Timothee Chalamet, Mark Rylance, Ariana Grande and many more.
Here's the full synopsis: Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence), an astronomy grad student, and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) make an astounding discovery of a comet orbiting within the solar system. The problem — it’s on a direct collision course with Earth. The other problem? No one really seems to care. Turns out warning mankind about a planet-killer the size of Mount Everest is an inconvenient fact to navigate.
With the help of Dr. Oglethorpe (Rob Morgan), Kate and Randall embark on a media tour that takes them from the office of an indifferent President Orlean (Meryl Streep) and her sycophantic son and Chief of Staff, Jason (Jonah Hill), to the airwaves of The Daily Rip, an upbeat morning show hosted by Brie (Cate Blanchett) and Jack (Tyler Perry).
With only six months until the comet makes impact, managing the 24-hour news cycle and gaining the attention of the social media obsessed public before it’s too late proves shockingly comical — what will it take to get the world to just look up?!
Don't Look Up will be in UK cinemas on December 10, 2021, and coming to Netflix on December 24, 2021.
