Madonna's long-anticipated biopic has been shelved as the star prepares to go on her world tour instead.
The upcoming film, which Madonna helped write, has been put on an indefinite hiatus in wake of her latest plans, according to Variety.

The news comes after years of anticipation and workshopping for the film, which resulted in Ozark and Inventing Anna star Julia Garner landing the coveted role of the young Queen of Pop.
But with Madonna: The Celebration tour starting in July, and spanning over 35 cities around the world, it's believed the film will now not go ahead for the foreseeable future.
Variety noted: "Insiders familiar with Madonna said her sole focus is the tour but she remains committed to making a film about her life one day."
The biopic has been in pre-production for the past four years, with Juno writer Diablo Cody initially helping pen the script, before Erin Cressida Wilson took over.
Madonna herself wanted deep involvement in the project, and had even set her intentions to direct.
During an interview with Rolling Stone in October 2022, the icon said: "Writing my script is the most draining, challenging experience I've ever had," comparing it to "psychotherapy" as she dived into her life and how she got to where she was today.

Auditions commenced in February 2022, with reports potential actors had to go through a "Madonna boot camp" in order to sing and perform like the Holiday star.
It's claimed the boot camp would last up to 11 hours a day.
Reports Garner had landed the role emerged in June 2022, beating out the likes of Florence Pugh for the role.
Madonna has yet to publicly comment on the claims of the shelving amid her promotional videos and announcements for her upcoming tour.
