The hefty Infinity Saga boxset from Marvel, announced back in October and comprising a total of 23 movies, will feature a host of deleted scenes and alternate endings.

It's just been released in the US (for an eye-watering $549.99 – around £425), and via Comicbookmovie.com, we've got some details about what kind of new footage is included.

According to reports, there are 12 new deleted scenes in all.

Thor: The Dark World gets an alternate ending, and it looks like previously unseen scenes filmed for Thor: Ragnarok in New York get an airing too, with Cate Blanchett's Hela turning up in the city that never sleeps.

There's also a deleted scene in which Captain Marvel makes her debut in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, a stand-in being used with the thinking being that when the role was cast, she'd be added in later – turns out it would be much, much later.

And there's reportedly another Ragnarok scene in which Jeff Goldblum's The Grandmaster meets a fitting end, and another in which Chris Hemsworth's Thor gets short shrift from Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie for trying to kiss her.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige discussed his feelings for revealing scenes left on the cutting room floor, while discussing plans for the Infinity Saga box set over the summer.

“They’re interesting, I like to see them. There’s still stuff that pops up from the original Star Wars trilogy - Tosche Station for instance. It’s not great, it certainly shouldn’t be in the movie, but I love seeing it,” he said while appearing on the Empire magazine podcast.

“I love that they shot it, and it exists, and we get to see it. Usually we love putting that stuff out there, there’s some things we’ve been too humiliated to show, but I think we’ll bring out soon enough.”

It's not yet known if/when we might be seeing the box set in the UK, so it might be worth checking if you've any long lost American relatives.
