Affleck and Damon launched Artists Equity in 2022, and have worked on a variety of projects together. Air, their debut movie released under the company banner, was very well received by critics and at the box office in 2023.

The pair's production company was created with an aim to provide more equitable profits for their cast and crew. Coincidentally, Air focused heavily on that theme, showcasing how Michael Jordan changed the sports industry with his own profit-sharing deal with Nike.

In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, Affleck shared that it was luck rather than planning that led to such a fitting debut for the company.

He explained: "In terms of the ethos, one of the things that was kismet about this was some of the themes in terms of changing ways that businesses operate in small ways can make big differences.

"Really it's about, how do you reward the people that drive value, how do you incentivise people, how do you make them feel included, how do you take risks and feel confident, how do you manage to do so anyway and work collaboratively? In that sense, there were a lot of themes connected to the movie."

RIP is rumoured to start filming this autumn but a release date has not yet been announced.
