The Meg 2's trailer shows Jason Statham's return
The trailer for Meg 2: The Trench has offered a new look at Jason Statham's creature feature.
The official media channels for the film have unveiled a pulse-pounding clip, after previous footage showed a puppy on a pier as the giant shark widened its jaw.
The sequel, which is due to be released on August 4, will once again follow Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) as he battles with a giant megalodon – or maybe more according to director Ben Wheatley.

“I'm storyboarding at the moment. It's been going on for four months, five months. It's my happy place, I love storyboarding,” he said back in 2021. “So yeah, I'm cutting storyboards and watching animatics, and slowly constructing the movie.
“It's really exciting. It's just action on a massive, massive scale,” he continued. “I don't think I can say at the moment what's going on, the ins and outs of it. But guaranteed, there will be a megalodon – maybe more than one.”
The cast for the sequel boasts some new blood, with Skyler Samuels, Sienna Guillory and Sergio Peris-Mencheta all being added to the roster. The latter is rumoured to be playing the villain in the piece, whilst the former two will assume the role of scientists in Taylor’s team.
