Mel B ‘signs six-figure deal to appear on Bear Grylls’ new celeb survival show’

Mel B has reportedly signed a six-figure deal to appear on Bear Grylls’ new Netflix show ‘Bear Hunt’.

The Spice Girls singer, 48, previously appeared with adventurer and survivalist Bear, 49, on his ‘Running Wild’ series in 2016 – with her episode memorably including the moment she weed on his hand after he was stung by a jellyfish.

A source has now told The Sun about how she will take part in his new programme – which will see celebrities dropped in the jungle and chased by Bear: “(Mel) flew to Costa Rica at the weekend to join the ambitious reality series.”

The insider added she told friends she joined up to help pay for her upcoming lavish wedding to hairdresser Rory McPhee, 36, at St Paul’s Cathedral, London.

Twice-divorced Mel got engaged to Rory in November 2022 after the couple spent almost three years together and has told The Sun about her plan to get hitched to the stylist at the iconic church.

She said: “As I have an MBE, I am allowed to marry at St Paul’s.

“They only do a small number of weddings a year so we are on the waiting list.”

“(The rest of the Spice Girls) won’t be bridesmaids though – we are all too old.”

Bear’s show is being hosted by Holly Willoughby, 43, and is said to also feature retired rugby player Danny Cipriani, 36, on the run from the explorer.

Netflix said about the show: “Bear believes there’s an action hero inside us all – even the celebs – but how strong is their will to survive?

“As Bear puts them through their paces, those who fail to impress will face the dreaded ‘Bear Hunt’ — a brutal game of cat and mouse where they’ll be hunted down and, if captured, eliminated from the show.”

Bear has said about the show: “I drop 12 celebrities in the middle of the jungle and I get like 20-odd days to track them down. What can possibly go wrong?”

It is the second major show, following ‘Dancing on Ice’, Holly has fronted since she quit ITV’s ‘This Morning’ in October amid Phillip Schofield’s affair scandal.
