Mia Goth addresses Blade movie's ongoing delays

Mia Goth has addressed the ongoing production delays with her movie Blade.

The Suspiria actress is gearing up to make her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in the reboot, which will star Mahershala Ali as the titular vampire hunter.

However, the production has suffered several setbacks, including the exit of first director Bassam Tariq and then his replacement Yann Demange.

During an interview with Deadline at the premiere of her new movie MaXXXine on Monday, Goth assured fans that the Marvel team are taking their time to deliver a good product.

"They really care, they do. They want to make a great movie. That's the sense that I get from them and that feels good," she stated.

The Emma actress is set to play Lilith, a key supernatural villain in the Marvel comics.

Blade has had a troubled production since it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019. It was originally scheduled to shoot in late 2022 but this plan was scuppered when Tariq left over creative differences. The project was delayed once again with the writers' strike last year.

Wesley Snipes, who previously played Blade in three films between 1998 to 2004, joked about the reboot's delays on social media earlier this month.

"Blade, lordylordylordy... folks still lookin for the secret sauce, ridin snowmobiles in traffic, kinda rough," he wrote on X/Twitter. "Daywalkers make it look easy, don't they?"
