Ming-Na Wen might have been inducted as one of the new Disney Legends at the D23 Expo on Friday, but this wasn’t just a celebration of her esteemed past. Instead Disney chairman Bob Iger used this opportunity to reveal Wen’s role in the upcoming Disney + Star Wars show The Mandalorian, too.

During his introduction for Wen Iger announced that the Mulan voice actress and star of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. would also be traveling to a galaxy far, far away in the near future.

During her acceptance speech Wen said that the studio had allowed her to “hit every bucket list,” before adding, “I used to pray to God, Buddha and the Force when I was a little girl. It’s astounding to me, Disney has offered me so much more.”

But while Iger and Wen teased her involvement in The Mandalorian during the D23 Expo ceremony, it wasn’t until Syfy asked her directly that she really opened up about her excitement.

“I was so excited when he announced it,” she told the website backstage. “Because I’ve been waiting to talk about it. You don’t understand: That is a Star Wars geek girl’s dream come true.”

Wen was understandably tight-lipped about her role, but she did tease, “I certainly don’t play a farmer,” before heaping praise on its creative team. “I can't wait. I love Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. It was a real, real treat.”

We’ll get to see what that is exactly when The Mandalorian premieres on Disney + on November 12.
