Sun Life Financial Names Andrew Darfoor Senior Vice President,SLF International (Bermuda)

WELLESLEY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Sun Life Financial Inc. (NYSE: SLF, TSX: SLF) today announced the appointment of Andrew Darfoor as Senior Vice President, SLF International (Bermuda), responsible for the company's Bermuda operations and relationship management activities for SLF International global distributors. Andrew reports to Wes Thompson, President, Sun Life Financial U.S. SLF International markets U.S.-dollar-denominated insurance and investment products designed specifically for high-net-worth investors residing outside of the United States, Canada, or Bermuda.

"Andrew brings a strong financial services background and a proven track record of strategic business growth," said Thompson. "He has built highly successful international operations through a focus on global expansion, profitability, customer service, and deep distribution relationships."

Prior to this appointment, Andrew held a number of senior leadership roles at Old Mutual PLC, a global international provider of investment and protection solutions. Most recently he was President and CEO of Old Mutual (Bermuda) Ltd., which provides insurance and investment solutions designed to meet the financial needs of international investors. In that role, Andrew oversaw all aspects of the business, including sales, marketing, investments, HR, finance, actuarial, and operations. Andrew has also held international management positions focused on strategy and business development at Credit Suisse AG, UBS AG, and Ernst & Young LLP.
