Jared Leto would love to return as Joker, admitting it is very hard to turn down such a character.
Leto revealed his secret wish to return to the DC universe during a recent interview with Variety to mark the impending release of his latest movie The Little Things later this month. After being asked whether he would like to play the villain again, Leto admitted, "It's hard to say no to that character.”

Leto then compared Joker, whom he only portrayed once in 2016’s Suicide Squad, to his character in The Little Things, both of whom he says have “absolutely no rules.” He then added that there are few chances in Holllywood to portray characters like that, which means it is “so much fun” to step into that “energy.”
There’s a good chance that audiences will actually get the chance to see more of Leto’s performance as the Joker in the near future, too.
Not only did he tease in the same interview that he “may or may not have shot something with Zack” Snyder for the upcoming release of his version of Justice League, but a lot of DC fans want to see the release of David Ayer’s cut of Suicide Squad.
Ayer has previously admitted that a lot of Leto’s work as Joker was cut out of Suicide Squad, while Leto says he “would love for [Ayer] to be able to work on” his original vision for the superhero blockbuster.
In the meantime, though, Leto will return to the comic-book genre with Morbius, which he has described as a “Jekyll and Hyde story that's just big and fun, and sometimes is a little scary,” released this March.
