Rupert Grint To Star In Snatch TV Series

Guy Ritchie’s cult British gangster movie ‘Snatch’ is set to be adapted into a TV series for Sony’s streaming service Crackle.

So far, so far predictable - so let’s throw in a curve-ball. The series is set to star Rupert Grint, best known for playing lovable buffoon Ron Weasley in the 'Harry Potter’ series.

This unlikely news was announced at Crackle’s upfront presentation (via Deadline), where it was said that the series would be similar in tone and spirit to the beloved original.

Dougray Scott has been cast as a regular while Ed Westwick will be a recurring guest star. The series premiere will be directed by Nick Renton, who directed multiple episode’s of BBC’s 'The Musketeers’.

The 2000 original told the story of a group of young criminals who find a truck full of gold bullion and get caught up in the world of organised crime.

It starred Jason Statham, Brad Pitt, Benecio Del Toro and Vinnie Jones. The actors above will play new characters created for the series.

Grint chaotic posh con man Charlie Cavendish, Scott plays Vic Hill,a con man operating from inside prison and Westwick plays night club owner Sonny Castillo.

Production on the ten-episode series begins in Manchester next week and will debut some time next year.
