Naomie Harris ‘desperately’ wants Daniel Craig back as Bond

Traditionally, it’s always been Miss Moneypenny’s role to pine for 007 – so it’s only fitting that current Moneypenny actress Naomie Harris express her desperation for the current Bond to stay on.

While it’s heavily speculated that Daniel Craig may have quit the role of James Bond, there remains no official confirmation either way, and Harris has made it clear that she hopes he doesn’t stand down yet.

Speaking at the London Film Festival (quotes via BBC News), the 40 year-old actress declared, “He’s an extraordinary actor and I think he’s the best modern Bond that we have had and I desperately want him back.

"Come back Daniel!”

After the character of Moneypenny was omitted from Craig’s first two films, ‘Casino Royale’ and ‘Quantum of Solace,’ Harris was introduced in the role in ‘Skyfall.’ The actress credits Craig for helping her through her anxieties taking on the famous role.

“Of course I want to be back with Daniel, I started with Daniel… When I was nervous on my first day, it was Daniel who calmed my nerves.”

The late Lois Maxwell remains the longest running Moneypenny, starring in the first 14 Bond movies alongside Sean Connery, George Lazenby and Roger Moore, before retiring with Moore on 1985’s ‘A View To A Kill.’

Maxwell was succeeded by Caroline Bliss, who played Moneypenny twice alongside Timothy Dalton, and Samantha Bond, who appeared in all four of Pierce Brosnan’s films.

The 25th Bond movie is provisionally set for a 2018 release.
