What's leaving Netflix in September 2024?
Classic films like The Holiday and A Beautiful Mind are among the titles set to be removed from the streaming platform in September.
Netflix is clearing its back catalogue of a number of titles once again in September, making room for new TV shows and films in the process.
There will no doubt be several titles that fans will miss once they're taken off the streaming service, with classic films, family favourites and even some Netflix originals being removed. But there is still time for viewers to catch these shows and films before they are gone, and with thanks to What's On Netflix we have a handy guide.
While the full list of titles being removed has not yet been confirmed, here is everything we know so far about what is leaving the streamer in the UK.
What's leaving Netflix in September 2024?
Christmas has not come early on Netflix, because the streaming platform will be removing one of the all time classics The Holiday from its service on the first day of the month. The fan favourite stars Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Cameron Diaz and Jack Black as four people who fall in love when Winslet and Diaz's Iris and Amanda swap homes over the holidays.
It's not the only festive movie to be coming off Netflix, as How the Grinch Stole Christmas is also being removed on 1 September. Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch will also be removed from the streamer on the same day, so if you're in a festive mood this summer perhaps now is the time to revisit these films.
Other classic titles that will be taken off Netflix in September include Russel Crowe's critically acclaimed film A Beautiful Mind, as well as a restored version of Lawrence of Arabia. BBC drama Mrs. Wilson, which stars Ruth Wilson as her real-life grandmother and the secret life she led, will be leaving Netflix on 3 September, though the title is likely still on BBC iPlayer.
15 September sees a particularly brutal day of content culling by Netflix, with many amazing movies being removed from the service including Chicago, Fight Club, Ford v Ferrari, Kong: Skull Island, and The Talented Mr Ripley.
Every TV show and film set to be removed from Netflix in September.
