New Ant-Man Artwork Reveals Villain Yellowjacket
The early buzz around Marvel’s summer 2015 release ‘Ant-Man’ continues to build, as the studio release new official promo art - which, as well as highlighting the armour of the titular hero, also showcases that of the antagonist Yellowjacket.
Director Peyton Reed’s film will see Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a thief who winds up taking on the mantle - and the miniaturising suit - of former Ant-Man Hank Pym (Michael Douglas).

Meanwhile, Yellowjacket/Darren Cross - a one-time protege of Pym, who takes over his company and advances the size-changing technology to, we can assume, rather less moral aims - will be portrayed by Corey Stoll.
On announcing Stoll’s casting at San Diego Comic Con 2014, producer/Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige praised Stoll’s “depth” as an actor: “As a major part of the Ant-Man ensemble, we all wanted an actor who could be both cunning and sympathetic, and help create a character as dynamic as Marvel’s best antagonists.”
The notion of a “cunning and sympathetic” villain will doubtless make many Marvel fans immediately think of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, whilst the ambitious industrialist angle might bring to mind such Iron Man adversaries as Jeff Bridges’ Obadiah Stone, or Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer.
However, Stoll (recently seen in TV’s ‘The Strain’) told Cinema Blend in September 2014 that there may be a rather different approach taken with Cross/Yellowjacket:
“He is not a villain in the vein of Thanos or Loki, who are villains that know it. [Cross] is a guy who is not that dissimilar from Michael Douglas’ character, Hank Pym. A brilliant scientist, who is not ethically pure.
"I think a great thing about the whole movie is that everybody in this movie is in those shades of gray a little bit."
‘Ant-Man’ will be released on 17 July, 2015, and all bveing well we should be seeing the first trailer sometime soon.
