The DCU is currently undergoing a lot of changes under James Gunn and Peter Safran's leadership, and Johnson's hero is confirmed to not be returning anytime soon, but that doesn't mean it won't be worth seeing his first outing for DC. Family dramas are what Kore-eda does best, and while this isn't as thought-provoking as his Oscar-winning film Shoplifters it is still worth a watch.
