New Pete’s Dragon Trailer Unveils Elliott The Dragon

A new trailer for ‘Pete’s Dragon’ gives us our first look at Elliott.

It’s no secret that ‘Pete’s Dragon’ is getting the remake treatment… but gone are the acid-trip visuals of the classic animated movie. And this impressive new trailer showcases a much more realistic Elliott the Dragon.

Even if it does still feel like a modern-day fairy tale.

‘Pete’s Dragon’ is loosely based on the 1977 Disney classic… but with a more timeless feel and rather stylish visuals, it looks as though the upcoming remake may be onto something.

Robert Redford stars as Mr Meacham – a small town wood carver who delights local children with tales of an enormous dragon who lives in the near woods. But while his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard) sees them as tall tales, she’s forced to accept that there might be a bit more to it than that…

Enter Oakes Fegley as Pete – 10-year-old feral boy who has lived for the last 6 years in those same woods.

“Nobody could survive in that forest for six years,” says Mr Meacham. “At least, not alone.”

But it seems he was far from alone…

Of course, the grown-ups can barely understand how such a beast could possibly be real… and when the villainous Gavin (Karl Urban) catches wind of the dragon, he sets his sights on the biggest trophy of all time.

“This thing is dangerous,” he says to the local police. “You have no idea what this thing is capable of. Let’s go hunting.”

‘Pete’s Dragon’ stars Robert Redford, Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Oona Lawrence, Wes Bentley and Karl Urban.
