A new trailer for the anticipated remake of Stephen King’s ‘It’ landed last night, and that creeping sense of dread has only been amplified.

The first teaser landed last month, and became the most-viewed trailer of all time, racking up 197 million views in only 24 hours.

That was more – way more – than the likes of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ received in the same time frame.

This new glimpse premiered last night during the MTV Movie and TV Awards, and while it’s not quite scaling those dizzy heights in terms of views, it’s still very much freaking people out.

Finding ‘Stranger Things’ star Finn Wolfhard at the centre of the action – the whole enterprise feels as though it has seized upon the vintage ‘Stranger Things aesthetic – the members of the Losers Club hit the sewers in Derry, Maine, where the legend of the murderous clown Pennywise has spanned generations.

Finding the shoe of the missing Betty Ripsom, the teen explorers are soon turning tail to run, as the final frame gives us a substantial look at Bill Skarsgård’s shapeshifting menace.

Also starring Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray, Sophia Lillis, Wyatt Oleff and Jack Dylan Grazer, and helmed by ‘Mama’ director Andrés Muschietti, it’s due out on September 8.
