New Underworld: Blood Wars trailer shows off Selene’s new moves

Selene has evolved in a new ‘Underworld: Blood Wars’ trailer.

It’s here - the final trailer for ‘Underworld: Blood Wars’ has just debuted online, and it looks pretty awesome. Starring Kate Beckinsale as the legendary death dealer, ‘Blood Wars’ takes the ‘Underworld’ saga in a whole new direction.

And it looks as though Selene has some slick new moves.

The impressive new trailer shows Selene heading north to find some answers at the suggestion of Vampire leader, Thomas (played by Charles Dance). With the Lycans hot on her heels, it looks as though Selene is going to need a bit of an edge.

And that’s exactly what she gets with a new set of ghostly combat skills.

Of course, it’s the same old story at the heart of it - the Lycans are power hungry and desperate to defeat the vampires once and for all. But this time, they believe the key to doing so lies with Selene’s blood.

Hunting her down to increase their own power, the Lycans obviously must be stopped. But what lengths will Selene go to, in order to finally defeat the werewolf menace? The film’s official synopsis might shed some light on that.

“The next installment in the blockbuster franchise follows Vampire death dealer, Selene (Kate Beckinsale) as she fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. With her only allies, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance), she must stop the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice.”

Will Selene sacrifice herself to become a ghostly assassin? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But the fifth ‘Underworld’ movie looks as ferociously fun as the rest of the franchise.

And we can’t wait to see how it all pans out.

‘Underworld: Blood Wars’ stars Kate Beckinsale as Selene, alongside Theo James, Charles Dance, Lara Pulver, Trent Garrett and Tobia Menzies.

Anna Foerster directed the film based on a script by Cory Goodman and Kyle Ward.

‘Underworld: Blood Wars’ heads to cinemas on 13 January 2017.
