New X-Men: Apocalypse Photos Showcase Angel

Empire have premiered a number of new images from the upcoming ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ giving us a new look at British actor Ben Hardy as Archangel.

Seems playing the winged mutant was a daunting task for the ex-’Eastenders’ actor, who admits he was “terrified” the day before starting shooting, saying “There wasn’t much sleep that night.” (And who can blame him?)

The character, otherwise known as Warren Worthington III, previously appeared in ‘X-Men 3: the Last Stand’ (billed simply as Angel), portrayed by Ben Foster - but he is one of numerous X-Men being reintroduced in younger incarnations in the 1980s-set ‘Days of Future Past’ follow-up.

Others include Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, and Tye Sheridan as Cyclops - all of whom can be seen alongsiode James McAvoy’s Xavier, Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, Nicholas Hoult’s Beast, Evan Peters’ Quicksilver and director Bryan Singer in the image below.

We also have a new action shot of Jean Grey and Nightcrawler:

And finally, another look at Oscar Isaac as the titular villain Apocalypse, the first mutant revered as a god, in a relaxed (but shiny) moment.
