Newt Gingrich Tweets About London Has Fallen, Is Hilariously Trolled

Politicians and popular culture have never (ever) made comfortable bedfellows.

Providing another ceaselessly amusing example of this is former Republican presidential nomination hopeful Newt Gingrich.

- Jude Law turned down Superman over the outfit
- New Ghostbusters meet old Ghostbusters in amazing selfie
- J.K. Simmons gets amazingly pumped for Justice League

It would seem he’s just recently seen the terrorist actioner ‘London Has Fallen’ recently, and felt strongly enough about its pretty dodgy themes of racial and religious intolerance that he felt compelled to take to Twitter.

Demonstrating that he is perhaps not the spiritual successor to Roger Ebert, the witless, perfunctory notice for the Gerard Butler movie has now spawned a host of imitators, no doubt to Mr Gingrich’s chagrin, as his feed fills up with similar reviews of films from 'Volcano’ to 'Snakes On A Plane’.

That final tweet could also perhaps be a burn at the expense of Gingrich’s fellow Republican Donald Trump, who is often trolled for having small hands, and specifically, short fingers.

That aside, one suspects that this may now be Mr Gingrich’s first and last foray into the world of movie criticism.

Probably for the best.
