Kim Novak’s 'frozen' Oscars 2014 face slated on Twitter over ‘bad plastic surgery'
Internet turns on "unrecognisable" 81-year-old Hollywood legend.
Hollywood legend Kim Novak made a rare public outing at the 2014 Oscars, but many were shocked by her unrecognisable appearance.
The 81-year-old ‘Vertigo’ star took to the stage to present Best Animated Feature with Matthew McConaughey, but it was her stumbling delivery and obvious plastic surgery that got the masses talking on social networks.
Twitter erupted with jokes about botox, such as:
I cant figure out if Kim Novak looks like Zig or Zag? #Oscars2014

Kim Novak presented best animated feature for Frozen. You can't even make this stuff up.

Amazing chemistry between Matthew McConaughey and the version of Kim Novak he's desperately pretending he's talking to. #oscars #avctv

However, a backlash of the backlash followed, with many users pointing out that star’s horse riding accident and cancer treatment.
Kim Novak has battled mental illness, cancer, and recovered from a major accident. She's a badass. The plastic surgery jokes are lame.

Novak’s most famous roles include 60s classics ‘Vertigo’ and ‘The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders’. The actress retired in 1991 after a difficult experience filming ‘Liebestraum’ – she disagreed with director Mike Figgis over the script and later said: “I got so burned out on that picture that I wanted to leave the business.”
In 2006 she was injured in a horse riding accidence where she punctured her lung and broke her ribs.
She was also treated for breast cancer in 2010.
